Print taken from my series of Snowdonia original oil paintings, exploring the ruggedness and beauty of ‘Eryri’, - Snowdonia - via loose mark-making and heightened colour. 

This painting depicts the stunning Ogwen Valley in Snowdonia, with Tryfan mountain in the distance.

I’ve intentionally let the cerulean blue ground layer, the initial charcoal drawing layer and finally the painted/palette knife layer all interplay with one another.

This unified approach across the three paintings helped me in trying to expose the elemental essence of this monumental mountain range.
