Print taken from my series of Snowdonia oil paintings, exploring the ruggedness and beauty of ‘Eryri’, - Snowdonia - via loose mark-making and heightened colour. 

This painting depicts Mount Snowdon - 'Yr Wyddfa' - in the depths of winter.

I’ve intentionally let the cerulean blue ground layer, the initial charcoal drawing layer and finally the painted/palette knife layer all interplay with one another.

This unified approach across the three paintings helped me in trying to expose the elemental essence of this monumental mountain range.
