Framed Oil Painting on canvas 

From my series of Snowdonia original oil paintings, exploring the ruggedness and beauty of ‘Eryri’, - Snowdonia - via loose mark-making and heightened colour. 

This painting depicts a moody lake, just near Cadair Idris in Snowdonia, North Wales.

I’ve intentionally let the cerulean blue ground layer, the initial charcoal drawing layer and finally the painted/palette knife layer all interplay with one another.
This unified approach across the three paintings helped me in trying to expose the elemental essence of this monumental mountain range.
